Ulrich made further investments into its Tribal practice by adding Aaron Schalk late last year as CFO and Senior Accounting Consultant, where he assists in specific planning and accounting controls and procedures, including indirect cost proposals for tribal governments. With 20 years of accounting experience, Aaron brings a great deal of knowledge on internal accounting and infrastructure to support Ulrich’s tribal clients. Aaron described his new role “Accounting parallels over industries and Tribal governments. I’m excited to be part of Ulrich’s Native American Consulting team, where I have the opportunity to work and understand the needs and goals of our Tribal clients, and assist their internal accounting teams to execute their long-term objectives more effectively.”
In March of 2023, Ulrich further expanded their talent bench with the hire of Tyler Anderson from Mutual of America Financial, where he held the position of Vice President of Tribal Markets. Tyler joins Ulrich as a Senior Consultant of the Native American Services Division, where he will focus on planning, development and account management of ERISA and non-ERISA 401(k)/403(b) plans, Institutional/Minors Trust/Per Capita Investment needs, and other financial support & solutions provided by Ulrich Investment Consultants for Tribal governments and their business entities (enterprises). Tyler’s years of experience working with Tribes and Tribal Associations along with his connections within the Tribal community has made him a trusted resource beyond the confounds of investment services.
Upon joining Ulrich, Tyler said “Ulrich is a recognized name in Indian Country, and I wanted to align myself with the best team in the space. My decision to join the firm was the most strategic, well thought out, and purposeful career decision of my life, made based on the unprecedented value and benefits I can now bring to the Tribal Market.”
“We see a huge opportunity to grow our Tribal services throughout the Southwest and Northwest given our investment in additional talent and resources like Tyler,” said John Ulrich.
Over the last 8 years Tyler has developed strong relationships with Tribal Government Leaders as well as National and Regional Association Leadership such as NAFOA, NNAHRA, NCAI, ATNI, and MAST, further enhancing the depth of service and support he provides to Tribal Nations beyond the confounds of investment services.
